What are autoflowering indicas?

Autoflower indicas are a type of cannabis that contain the ruderalis genetics. This gene gives them their unique ability to flower automatically, regardless of their light cycle. This allows them to be grown on the same light cycle from start to finish and reach maturity in as little as 8-10 weeks from seed. Autoflowers are short compact plants, rarely growing above 100cm, and although they yield less, this makes them ideal for any stealth or indoor grower with limited space.

Indica strains are known for their relaxing and sedative effects, and the auto flowering strains are no exception. They have a slightly higher CBD content than sativas which makes them a popular choice for those seeking relief from stress, anxiety, and pain.

How much do autoflower indicas yield?

Autoflower indica strains can yield anywhere from 30 – 200 grams per plant. The size of the plant varies depending on factors such as genetics, growing conditions, size of pot, quality of lights, nutrients, soil and what training methods you have used. Providing you optimize all of these while growing, you could be looking at an autoflower yield of over 100 grams. Anything above this is an excellent yield.

How tall do indica Autoflowers grow?
Autoflowering indica strains are shorter and more compact than sativa autos or photoperiods, typically growing between 50-100 cm (20-40 inches) in height. However, the height of the plant depends on the genetics, growing conditions and training methods you use. Some autoflowering indicas may grow taller or shorter than this range because they may also contain some sativa genetics.

What is the most potent indica autoflower?

There are several highly potent autoflowering indica strains, each with their own unique characteristics and effects. Gorilla Glue and Do Si Dos Auto are the two highest THC indica dominant autoflowering strains that we stock. Both produce THC levels of up to 25% which is enough to get even the most seasoned stoners high.

Are autoflowering indicas good for beginners?

One of the most challenging things about growing weed indoors, especially for beginners is maintaining their size and having enough space for the plant. For example, imagine growing a sativa in a 6-foot-tall tent. Most sativas can comfortably grow 8 feet tall, but what you need to remember is that the lights will probably be dangling down about 1 foot too, so you will really only have about 5 feet to play with. This can often lead to light burn as the plant gets too close to the hot grow light, or some emergency LST training will be needed to avert the lanky sativa branches from growing too tall. Autoflower indica strains remain very short, usually growing no more than 80cm tall which makes them perfect for any indoor growers with limited space. Because of their short height they are easy to train and maintain and will grow perfectly well in a small closet or cupboard.

How fast can you grow an autoflowering indica?

In optimal growing conditions, autoflowering indicas can completely grow from seed to harvest in as little as 8-10 weeks.

Autoflowers grow incredibly quick and do not follow the same growth cycle as a standard photoperiod plant. The autoflower veg stage only lasts for a few weeks before beginning to flower. The flowering stage is then much shorter too, only lasting for 6-10 weeks, but while the plant is flowering it will still continue to grow in size for at least a few more weeks.

What is the fastest flowering indica autoflower?

While there are several fast growing indica autoflower strains, with a flowering time of 6-8 weeks, Cream Caramel is the fastest that we stock. It is a 90% indica dominant hybrid cross of Blue Black, Maple Leaf Indica, and White Rhino that is best known for its fast-flowering times and sweet caramel aroma.

Cream Caramels genetics have been carefully selected and bred to produce a plant that flowers quickly and produces good yields. The strain has also been optimized for indoor cultivation, making it an excellent choice for growers with limited time or space.

What is the highest yielding indica autoflower?

When it comes to yield, there are several strains that spring to mind such as Big Bud Auto, however, this is a 50/50 hybrid. If we are looking specifically at indica dominant autoflowers, then Do Si Dos Autoflower is the highest yielding.

Do Si Dos Autoflower is an indica dominant strain with a flowering time of around 8-9 weeks and a THC content of up to 25%, which puts it on the same level of potency as Gorilla Glue.

The strain is known for its big yields, with some growers reporting harvests of 500 grams per square meter. Not only will Do Si Dos Auto produce enormous buds but it is also known for its potent highs that can last for hours.

Ten tips for growing autoflowering indicas

  1. Choose a good soil for your plants and ensure it provides good drainage and water retention.
  2. Choose a good pot size (5-10 gallons) for your plant to grow in.
  3. Provide good quality lighting to your plant with at least 18 to 20 hours of light per day.
  4. Keep the temperature between 70-80°F (21-27°C) during the day and around 60-70°F (15-21°C) at night.
  5. Maintain a consistent humidity level of 40-50% during the vegetative stage and decrease to 30-40% during the flowering stage to prevent mold and mildew growth.
  6. Water your plants when the top inch of the soil is dry and avoid overwatering which can lead to root rot.
  7. Provide good nutrients, containing; nitrogen during the vegetative stage and phosphorus and potassium during the flowering stage.
  8. Train your plants using LST to maximize light absorption to increase yields.
  9. Closely monitor your plants for signs of pests and diseases, and address any issues promptly.
  10. Harvest your plants about 60% of the trichomes turn cloudy in color.
