Durban Poison seeds information
Being a pure landrace strain with 100% sativa, Durban Poison’s characteristics are very distinguishable from hybrid plants. Given the right care, these seeds will deliver just exceptional yields.
You can tell its South African origin from its name. The cannabis strain has been growing in different parts of Africa since the 14th century during the Dutch colonization era. Some time around the late 1970s, it made it way to the United States thanks to Ed Rosenthal, an American breeder, who then took some prime specimens to Mel Frank, a fellow breeder who optimized its flowering time and resin content by fine tuning the genetics of the specimen.
Since then it has enjoyed huge popularity, especially more so with those who create cannabis extracts and concentrates.
Smoking Durban Poison weed
Taste and aroma
Breaking the buds open you will notice a classical dank smell with a combination of sweet licorice and pine. When burnt and inhaled, this is intensified into a strong skunk and lung-expanding thick smoke. When exhaling, you experience the licorice aroma and a sweet, cloying pine sap taste.
Effects
Durban Poison is one of the effective strains that can help get rid of depression and anxiety symptoms as it delivers great energy, joy and clear thoughts. It boosts your creativity and tunes your focus which might open new avenues in your hobbies or work.
Most users find Durban Poison effective at easing social stress and allowing you to chat and express yourself better. Others find these effects to cause over stimulation and a sense of jittery similar to caffeine.
If you are a beginner, please beware that overindulging in a short period of time can bring on quite an intense effect which may be overwhelming.
Growing Durban Poison seeds
Durban Poison’s green buds are tapered and long in shape, often medium to large size, covered in resin and trichomes. The green leaves are offset by the pistils’ bright orange color that’s meant to catch pollen from fertilizing plants. Durban Poison’s milky-white trichomes give its cured flowers an incredibly sticky and light sheen texture.
Growing Durban Poison is easy as it can survive in different growing conditions. It thrives best in sunny warm climate; however, it is so resilient that even if grown in poorer conditions it can still deliver solid yields. Being a pure sativa strain, it can grow very tall. As such, to avoid drooping branches that eventually snap, regular pruning and removing dead leaves are necessary to help your plants stay healthy and strong.
It is much easier to maintain when grown indoors with only basic techniques required during the early stages of growth. It tends to prefer hydroponics setting over soil or other mediums.
Durban Poison feminized seeds flower rather quickly. Seeds grown indoors can start flowering in about 7-9 weeks.
