For many enthusiasts, cannabis just isn’t worth smoking unless it is a high THC strain. At MSC we have an unrivalled selection of high THC seeds that have been lab tested to contain THC levels of up to 33%.
To produce our high THC seeds we only breed with the best genetics, combining strong stable plants with high THC buds to create some of the strongest strains of weed that you are likely to grow.
What is THC?
THC is the abbreviated term for tetrahydrocannabinol. It is the main compound found in cannabis plants that is responsible for its psychoactive effects.
Many people think of THC as recreational and CBD as medical, however it isn’t quite as simple as that. Both CBD and THC are compounds found in cannabis, and both play their own role in how it affects the brain and body.
It is only recently that we are discovering the true benefits of THC in medicinal marijuana. For example, high THC strains are often used by people suffering from insomnia, stress, eating disorders, PTSD and chronic pain, which just goes to show the far reaching benefits of the different types of cannabis strain.
How does THC work?
THC works by dulling down our senses. It does this by attaching to CB1R receptors on neurons that operate circuitry in the brain cells that deal with emotion, pain, pleasure, cognition, memory, physiological and movement. This is why the highest THC strains often have disorienting effects such as memory loss or a reduction in motor function.
What are the strongest strains of weed?
Given the effects that THC has on the brain it makes sense that all of the strongest strains of weed are high in THC. Here is a list of our five recommended super-potent high THC seeds for you to grow.
Bruce Banner – Named after the alter ego of the marvel super hero The Incredible Hulk, Bruce Banner more than lives up to its name. Having been lab tested at over 30% these high seeds are ideal for any season stoners that are looking to truly test their tolerance levels.
Gorilla Glue – Famed for named being the strongest strain of weed, Gorilla Glue took the cannabis industry by storm when it won the 2014 Cannabis Cup and the High Times Jamaican world cup in consecutive years. Girl Scout Cookies – First produced in California in 2012 Girl Scout Cookies also known as GSC was an instant success thanks to its potency and sweet desert-like taste. GSC was created by crossing Durban Poison and OG Kush two of the most popular indica and sativa parent strains to create the perfect high THC hybrid strain.
Consistent lab tests of GSC since 2012 have shown the strain to produce up to 30% THC making these some of the highest THC seeds you can get your hands on.

Great White Shark – A potent hybrid cross of Skunk #1 and White Widow, Great White Shark has won numerous cannabis cups since its creation in the 90’s. It may not be in many of the highest THC strains lists, however our great white shark has been lab tested at 32% which we think deserves an honourable mention and just goes to show what the strain is capable of.
How to increase THC
Browsing our list of the strongest strains of weed is a good start, however if you really want to push the boundaries of THC production in your plants there are a few things you need to be doing.
Use good quality grow lights – If you want to grow high THC strains then to really get the most out of the plants use some good quality LED or HID lights.
Lights is food for plants and without good quality light yields and quality will suffer, this includes THC levels.
Keep your plants healthy and happy – Even the tiniest amount of stress can jeopardize yield and THC levels, especially if it happens during the middle of flowering when the plant is producing its buds.
Keep your plants happy by avoiding silly mistakes such as over and under watering, heat stress, light leaks, nutrient burn etc. Keep a close eye on your grow and check the health of the leaves regularly.
Pay attention to the leaves of the plant. Leaves are the first part of the plant that begin to show stress, such as wilting if over watered or yellowing from nutrient burn.
Harvest at the right time – Cannabis plants have a very short window of around 2-3 weeks during the end of the flowering stage when they are most potent.
To optimize potency when you are growing high THC seeds you should harvest when the trichomes have turned milky white in colour.
